The Soil Food Web: Increases Farmer’s Yields, Provides Protection from Pests and Weeds, Fertilizes, Reduces Irrigation Needs and Sequesters Carbon from the Environment.

Our chart below shows the relationship and interactions that form The Soil Food Web.

The Soil Food Web is the Soil Biome which breaks down nutrients into a form that plants can use.

Over the decades, modern farming methods and use of tractors and pesticides, for example, has robbed soil of nutrients and damaged soil structure.

Working with the principles of the Soil Food Web, farmers can restore balance to their soil within a matter of a few months using Thermophilic Composting. With healthy soil, the need for chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides is eliminated. Healthy soil nurtures plants and provides an inhospitable environment for weeds. Larger and healthier yields are visible in a matter of months and increase over time.

The benefit to farmers is huge with savings on chemicals they no longer need and with more profits from bigger yields. Think forest floor.

Healthy Soil produces healthy plants.

Working with the Soil Food Web also provides benefits to the environment by improving soil structure that prevents soil erosion. We currently face Eco-System collapse. In the last 20 years, the insect population has declined by 57%; the bird population by 1/3 in the past 15 years. According to the United Nations, this population decline has been caused by the use of pesticides. Eliminating the need for pesticides allows insects and birds to thrive.

We also face Climate Collapse. Here again, the amount of carbon sequestered through the Soil Food Web works to removed carbon from the air and let it go to work in the micro-organisms in the soil.
